Over 100 people joined us to celebrate the 110th Anniversary of 1st Stony Stratford Scout Group and congratulate Alby on his Silver Acorn, awarded for his excellent contribution to Scouting over many, many, many years!
We had Volunteers, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers from past, present and future attending – it was great to share our stories and experiences together.

Paul McClure, a Scout from the 70s, sent us a letter which we gladly read out and was much appreciated.
Amongst past members joining us were: Liam Drinkwater a Scout who, 15 years ago, was presented the rare Award for Meritorious Conduct for being an active and inspirational member of Scouting.
Bryan Egan, ex-Chairman for the group in the 1970s, and Noel Wilson who, 45 years ago, was the first Scout in the group to receive the Chief Scout Award. Noel, with his Motorsport for MS charity, is just 3 circuits away from completing every Motorsport venue in the country. Next,

he’ll be going global with his motor ability. Noel shared his fond memories of the group and how Alby and Sandra had supported them in his time as a Scout.

We were treated when the new Youth Bard of Stony Stratford, Meghan Willsher performed her comedy, competition-winning speech for us. We look forward to seeing more from Meghan.
Everyone then took part in a Sing-Song, “Fred the Moose”, led by Dylan before tucking into food, playing some games and listening to musical entertainment kindly provided by Scouts (Raph, Edward, Cameron, and Dylan). All in all, a brilliant afternoon – thanks to everyone!
