You may have seen a bit of activity at the Scout Building recently. Yes we have a new roof.
After many years of saving/jumble sales and grant applications we have finally done it. A Big Thank you to
everyone who donated and was involved.
A bit of History of 1st Wolverton Scouts, Founded in 1908, not on this site. This building came later. The group
is in the top 10 of the oldest groups in the UK and has seen many changes and many young people during this
time. The group is part of Milton Keynes Scout District and Buckinghamshire County Scouts. Currently we have
over 90 people involved in the group from the young members to the adults who run each section to the
committee members, who help run and maintain the hall.
We haven’t finished there – we need to re-tarmac or make the front area good again. Install ramps and disability access, plus toilets. A new sign and just general maintenance. Inside and outside.
Thank you to the groups who use our hall on a regular basis for their patience in the last month whilst we had the roof redone but now we can all enjoy the new look and its space.
