About Us

Milton Keynes Scouting District (MKSD) in Buckinghamshire includes 23 groups, 4 explorer units and an active Scout Network Section.

MKSD covers old and new towns of Milton Keynes including Wolverton and Stony Stratford who are two of the oldest groups in the UK, formed in 1908. Milton Keynes is a growing city and Scouting is growing with the demand.

Each group covers the age range 4-14 and run a weekly meeting either in their own building or school and community buildings. When a member reaches 14, they can join Explorers, which includes a Young Leader Section, until the age of 18. Network starts at 18 years of age until 25 years. Also, at 18 the member can take up an adult role in Scouting, whether in a group or the District Team.

MKSD are very fortunate to have their own activity centre called The Quarries Scout Campsite, which was put at the disposal of the district Scouts by Captain A A Ferguson of Cosgrove. It boasts many activities – rifle range, archery range, climbing wall, tunnelling system, as well as 10 campsites, 2 fire circles, a lodge and a training building.

MKSD also has a Resource Centre hosted at The Quarries Scout Campsite, where you can buy uniforms and a whole load of Scouting merchandise.

Other resources in MKSD include the MK Scout and Guide Gang Show, with an annual stage performance including singing, dancing and acting. They were formed in 1991 and are going very strong and are always looking for new talent, both young and old.
