2 Leaders and 1 Explorer recently attended a camp with their group from 5th Newport Pagnell when they were busy enjoying the camp and suddenly heard a Road Traffic Accident through the trees and the woodland area.
They stopped what they were doing to go and support the family involved. Here is more from the family directly.
We were involved in an RTA near Pencarrow (B3266 Camelford to Bodmin) at around 10.50am in North Cornwall yesterday (Police Incident Log 302). The Milton Keynes Scout group were camped in the woods next to the road, heard the collision and came to our aid. We had no mobile reception so were lent a mobile phone to call the Police by a leader and Rosie used her first aid knowledge to check my daughters out and treated them with extreme compassion, as my daughters are both autistic.
They stayed with us until the Police and Ambulances arrived.
We were on holiday and obviously returned home early due to the events of yesterday.
We cannot express in words our sincere thanks and Kharis (aged 10) voiced that there are still “nice and kind people in the world who care”.
We would be grateful if you could help us by passing our thanks on. We thanked the Scouts at the time but the situation was total mayhem.
