This year presents a challenge to Milton Keynes Scouts who would normally join with Royal British Legion services across Milton Keynes, at Bletchley, Newport Pagnell, New Bradwell and others, to mark The Armistice.

With services curtailed during the current pandemic situation we’ve taken the opportunity to mark Rembrance Sunday a little differently.

At The Quarries there is a Hawthorn tree where the top of the Woodland Chapel was (it’s being moved to a new local). It seemed fitting that we create a small tribute to those who have given service.

We’re like Groups to run an activity, which many of you will already have planned in, around rememberance, and use the time to paint a rock, or a wooden spoon, or something sustainable with poppies that we can build up under the tree.

We will light up the tree with solar lights, so that as the sun sets, they will be remembered.

For Groups that would like to take part, please can you email [email protected] and we’ll arrange collection of the poppies by the 7th November.
