Saints Scouts have been working hard at their local campsite. They have been working towards their Activity Centre Service Badge and have visited the campsite a few times now. Learning new skills and how the campsite operates. Working with tools and lots more still to learn.

This weekend they have been clearing the space in the yard area and making this area look very neat and tidy. Using new tools and learning what each tool is used for and how to use them safely. During their time onsite they have also learnt some of the most important needs like cleaning in the toilets and the logs that are kept and why.

We spoke to Pat (Site Manager) and she had this to say “The site was approached by a leader from Saints Scout Group to ask if he could bring some scouts to the Quarries to work towards their Site Service Badge.  Its an interesting award, but they seemed to take things in their stride First job was inspecting the toilets, were they clean, did the bins need emptying, toilet roll and hand towel inspection, how much rubbish on the floor.  Task completed and went on to site 7 to clear stones and wood from the ‘work in progress’ site.  Thank you Saints, a job well done, next time it will be a discussion about drainage and drains!!  We will of course find other things to do as well

The site crew are looking forward to welcoming them back for your next session where you will be able to learn more skills and knowledge on how the site is run operationally.
