Camping
Price of sites is based on the number of campers and not the size of the site. Whole Campsite bookings can be arranged. They require 50% non refundable deposit.
For Scouting we require the Nights Away Permit Holders name and Scout Membership number. Please use the nights away form (NAN) on the UK Scout website Nights Away Permit Scheme page.
Site 1
One of our largest campsites, it’s area is roughly 1106 Square Metres, with has an approximate capacity of at least 70 people. It’s next to Hiawatha Campfire (Small Campfire Circle), the main wood pile and a water tap, and is shaped in a small b shape with 3 altar-fires around the edges. Site 2
Roughly 206 Square Metres with an approximate capacity of at least 20 people. Square shaped, it’s near to Hiawatha Campfire (Small
Campfire Circle), the main wood pile and a water tap. It has an alter-fire at the back of site in the trees. What3words – ///unwraps.envoy.useful
Site 3
Roughly 179 Square Metres with an approximate capacity of at least 12 people. Next to the Climbing Wall & Rifle Range and a water tap. It is triangular shaped and has an altar-fire at the back of the site, and also an area to have a fire on the ground. What3words – ///currently.roadblock.collects
Site 4
Roughly 663 Square Metres with an approximate capacity of at least 35 people. Next to the Pioneering Store and the Tunneling System. It is also near to the Toilet Block. It is approximately square shaped, has 2 altar-fires around the edges, and has an option for power socket. Also it has a hidden activity at the back of the site – a metal slide. Site 5
Roughly 227 Square Metres with an approximate capacity of at least 15 people. Near to Main wood Pile, it is oval shaped and has an altar-fire. What3words – ///deflation.trim.denoting
Site 6
Roughly 168 Square Metres with an approximate capacity of at least 15 people. Located in the depths of the trees and under-growth that the campsite has, it is shaped in a small j shape and has an altar-fire. Only Gas cooking is allowed due to the location near our neighbours. Site 7/9
Roughly 457 Square Metres at the moment with an approximate capacity at of least 40 people. Sited next to The Lodge this site is currently under-development, so the definition hasn’t been set. Site 8
Roughly 415 Square Metres with an approximate capacity of at least 30 people. Located off the Car Park, next to the main road. It also next to the Reflection Zone and the Large Campfire Circle. It is rectangular in shaped and has an altar-fire off to one side with a cooking area in the trees. What3words – ///miles.others.blink
Site 10
Our largest site, roughly 1312 Square Metres with an approximate capacity of at least 70 people. This site is next to the Archery Range, but furthest away from rest of the Campsite facilities. Site 11
The smallest site, roughly only 71 Square Metres with an approximate capacity at least 6 people. It is above Site 4, next to the Tunneling System and above the Service Crew Compound. There is a water tap nearby along with the Main Wood Pile. It is round in shape and has an altar-fire on one side. What3words – ///honestly.forehead.sofas
The Lodge
The Lodge is our Residential Sleeping accommodation. Sited next to the Main Campfire Circle and the Barbeque Area, it has a grassed area to side of the building for extra camping or activities. It is able to sleep a total of 22 people on beds (20 on bunk beds in 4 dorm rooms, and 2 single beds in a leaders room). There are some spare mattress which can be temporily used in the Main Room.
The Kitchen offers a Commercial 6 Burner Range Oven, with a number of other catering appliances, and is stocked with all the cooking utensils, pans, and baking trays needed. Also sufficient cutlery & crockery.
The Main Hall has sufficient seating and tables along with a large television on a stand, plus Wi-Fi Internet on request.
Oswald Hamilton
The Oswald Hamilton Centre, locally known as ‘The Ozzy’, was opened by Gareth Morrison, the Chief Scout in 1992. This building is used primarily for training, meetings, conferences and social events. It’s not used as an accommodation building, but in an emergency can be converted.
The Kitchen offers a Commercial 6 Burner Range Oven, with a number of other catering appliances, and is stocked with all the cooking utensils, pans, and baking trays needed. Also sufficient cutlery & crockery.
The Main Hall has sufficient seating and tables, along with a Smartboard, plus Wi-Fi Internet on request.
The Hub
The Hub, situated on the side of the Flag Field, is a small building which can be used for meetings of up to 8 people.
The Kitchenette offers a microwave, small water heater, kettle and sink. It also has cutlery & crockery for 8.
The meeting area has seating and a small table along with a television mounted on the wall to run presentations, plus Wi-Fi Internet on request. The decked area in front can seat 8.
