Are you a people person? Can you espouse the great things Scouting offers to it’s volunteers? We’re looking for a number of people to join our Growth, Development & Transformation team to assist in the recruitment, placement and supporting new volunteers from our growing list of potential volunteers into scouting volunteers.
The Person
Ideally a good people person, both face-to-face and on the phone, you’ll be engaging positively with potential volunteers. You’ll be approachable, willing to learn and adapt as we evolve the processes and tools to improve our recruitment & retention. You’ll ideally have some supervisory or recruitment experience, and be willing to bring those skills along to help us grow Scouting
This role will require a enhanced DBS check, if not already a member of Scouting.
Knowledge of the Scouts Appointment Process is not required, as this can be learnt, the person & experience is more important than prior knowledge.

The Training
As a member of our Growth, Development & Transformation Team you will need to undertake some training yourself, this will apply to all ages.
Mandatory
Scouting has a core set of training that Volunteers will need to undertake:
- Module 1 – Essential Information.
- General Data Protection Regulations
- Safety
- Safeguarding
Tools For The Role
Your Role will require you to use the following software packages, if you have no experience of those packages, we will support you in gaining skills
- Office365
- Microsoft Teams
- Sharepoint
Core Tasks/Responsibilities
- Work with Groups to identify, confirm and fill volunteering needs
- Conduct initial contacts with potential volunteers to identify their potential within Scouting
- Conduct initial introductions of Volunteers to Group
- Support Groups in initiating DBS checks for new volunteers
- Ensure new starter is engaged with Getting Started Training Adviser
