St Georges Day Parade!

Saturday 23rd April

10:30am - 1pm

Please see the information below for our parade on Saturday 23rd April. It’s a great event where all the Groups in Milton Keynes parade proudly as Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Leaders, and parents. Members of the Guide Association will also be joining us.

We will meet behind John Lewis Multi Storey Car Park between the Car Park and John Lewis External Entrance for 10:30am for a 11am start. Please follow the marshal’s directions when you arrive. Parking is available in the multi storey car park and other parking around the area.

The parade will be called to alert. The Groups and their flags will then march off. The route will take us from the car park across one road and down the central reservation between the Theatre and the Car Park. We will progress under the underpass (Flag Bearers Will Need to Dip Flags at this point) Across the bridge and through the rose at Campbell Park. Taking us up to the beacon and down into the amphitheatre. Please keep in mind that the area we will be sitting on is grass and this could be wet. Please bring any ground sheets or bags to sit on.

Please can we ask that at least 1 adult leader in your group is wearing a high vis jacket. This will allow us to ensure the road crossing is smooth and done in the safest way possible. We will have a few marshals on the route to help and support with traffic management. Please ensure that your volunteers are vigilant during the parade.

Any of your group members that are involved in Gang Show will be aware that once they are in the amphitheatre they will need to come to the stage area straightaway.

Please wear full uniform and decorations.

We are due to finish approx. 1pm at Campbell Park.

In the event of bad weather or cancellation on the morning, please visit www.mkscouts.org or check the district page on Facebook.

Our Jamboree Unit and Grand Tour Unit members will be there with some refreshment stands. Please communicate this to your parents and we ask where possible they have cash for payment.
