Milton Keynes Explorers recently took a trip to the welsh hills for a spot of hill walking and they all had a superb time. They even found some time for a chill on the beach to watch the sunset.
Day 1 started with Cnicht Maountain in Snowdonia which forms part of the Moelwynion Mountain Range at around 11 miles and 600 meters high and finished nicely with a relax on Barmouth beach to witness this wonderful sunset
Overnight temperatures were a little less spectacular and reached a low of -4 degrees! Waking up to a frost on the tent really did set them up for the day ahead.
Day 2 was a little easier and this resulted in a constant never ending climb on gravel to reach the Cadair Viewpoint, which again had some spectacular views of the welsh mountains and countryside.
Michael (Explorer Volunteer) said: “Despite the cold nights this did not stop the Explorers from having a great time and really working hard as a team to trip an enjoyable one. I am really proud of what we achieved over the few days and the explorers should be proud too. Weather held out for us despite seeing all weathers on the way. We were prepared for all weathers and had an awesome time”
Here are a few photos from the two days and well done to all that took part.
