Milton Keynes Gang Show recently visited 1st Crownhill Beavers as they were invited to come along and help with some First Aid practice and also how they would use the emergency services.

Preparing & rehearsing for their acting parts.

Each group was give a scenario that they needed to act out and show the other Beavers. This looked at the different emergency services that we would use and why we might use them. Also helped the Beavers to understand what services are available and what they will be asked when calling 999.

Beaver Leader Dawn (Beaver Storm) and she said that we wanted to use a fun and interactive way of learning and this really brought the scenarios to life. Ranging from Ambulance and Police up to Coastguard and Lifeboat. I am really proud of the Beavers and this has really helped them to learn what to do if they are faced with this real life scenario.

MK Gang Show is a theatrical activity that is open to Scouting and Guiding and they perform a show in October each year. They are always looking at ways that they can get involved in other scouting activities and this is what they had to say about the evening.

It has been great to spend the evening with Crownhill Beavers and there are some keen actors in the group. Supporting them to recreate these scenarios has been awesome and this is a life skill that the will need to know. We hope that some of the Beavers have been able to learn what Gang Show is and that they will come along and ride the Crest of a wave with us.

Witnessing a burglary and calling the police!
