In Scouting childrens mental health is really important and raising awareness of this is just what 3rd Newport Pagnell have been doing this week.

To help promote Childrens Mental Health Week they have run a poster competition and with thanks to Freedom Leisure at Willen Lake they are on display in the gym for people to see. .

The aim is to raise positivity and smiles into what can be a very difficult situation.

1 in 6 children aged 5-16 are likely to suffer from mental health related issues. This is why we are asking you all to raise the positivity and help to make a change to a Young Persons life.

We spoke to Charlene who organised the competition and this is what she had to say: “I am overwhelmed with the hard work and dedication that the young people of 3rd Newport have put in. I feel that these positive word posters will make a huge difference to the children that visit the gym and also the adults. It is very easy to get stuck in your ways and we all need a bit of positivity in our lives. I would also like to say a huge thank you to all the young people and parents that have helped to make this happen”

Freedom Leisure do have a very difficult task of deciding a winner for the competition. Well done to all the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts that have entered the competition and good luck.
