MK Cubs from across the district had an amazing time on Sunday as they tied up their boots and put on their coat for the District Cub Hike.

Starting at the Quarries and walking a 3km circular route around Cosgrove. Over 150 cubs joined in with the first district hike that has taken place for a while and seems that everyone had a great time.

On returning to the Quarries there was a campfire waiting and a great opportunity to have a sing song and some fun. Cubs from Oxley Park took the lead with the peanut song which went down a treat. Hotdogs and hot chocolate were on the menu, and this was all cooked and served by a team from Milton Keynes Gang Show.

Claire Harris (Cub Lead Volunteer) said: – It has been a privilege to be able to organise this event and see Cubs from across MK out and about again after such a long time. The hike and campfire were enjoyable but more than this is the smiles on the faces really told the story. I would like to say a huge thank you to all the Cubs and Leaders/Volunteers that have helped make this a success.

Also, a huge thank you to Quarries site crew for the tremendous job they did in supporting the event and making the car parking a dream. Another special mention to MK Gang Show who supported us with the event and kept us full of hotdogs and hot chocolate.

Next district cub event is the wizard camp, and we are really looking forward to it.
