We are delighted to announce that Jason Raggett has been successful in his application to become a Deputy District Commissioner in Milton Keynes. This appointment has been approved by the appointments advisory team and Stuart Bailey (DC).

Who is Jason?

Hopefully most of you know me and for the right reasons 😊

I have been involved in MK Scouting since I was 8 years old when I moved to Milton Keynes from Surrey with my parents. Having already been a Beaver and Cub in Surrey, when we moved my parents were very worried that we would struggle to find me a place in Cubs in a new town.

Little did they know at the time that our next-door neighbours were Akela and Jacala of the local cub pack and the school that we can see from our house is where they met.

I am forever grateful to my Cub leaders as they started me on this journey in such a fantastic District.

Having held a few roles as an adult volunteer from Assistant Scout Leader to District Cub Scout Leader and more recently ADC Development and ADC Media and Communication I feel that I bring to the role a passion to support our volunteers in delivering great Scouting that is both educational but more importantly fun for both our YP and Volunteers alike.

I am delighted to hand over the role of Media and Communications Manager to Chris Leroux who I have no doubt will bring new and fresh ideas to our media and comms channels.

I am really looking forward to working with you all and please do reach out to me if you would like a chat or have an idea and want to share. Always remember there is no such thing as a silly question.

Lastly, I would just like to say thank you to every single one of you for everything you do, your enthusiasm and dedication is what makes MK Scouting Rock. Keep up the awesome work.
