Over 70 members from Loughton Scout Group took part in the Jubilee Parade to celebrate 70 years of Her Majesty The Queen on her Platinum Jubilee.

Joining military and other community groups the parade began at Midsummer Place and paraded through to Midsummer Boulevard and down to The Rose at Campbell Park.

At The Rose we shared in some memorable information about Her Majesty and celebrated the fact that Milton Keynes has been granted City Status. Joined by many dignitaries including, High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire and Mayor Cllr Amanda Marlow.

Even managed to get a picture with Dame Ann Limb (Former Chair of the Scout Association) Dame Ann has been to many Scouting events here in MK and was our guest speaker at our last AGM.

Shelly Matthews (Lead Volunteer) said – I am immensely proud to be able to take part in such a remarkable event and it is a true honour. I am also overwhelmed with the number of Young People that have attended the event. We will not be able to take part in such event again for a long time. Our Young People will remember this for a very long time. Thank you to all the volunteers and parents that have helped to make this happen. Proud Moment is an understatement.

MK Scouts would like to thank the organisers in allowing us to be part of such a landmark event in the Jubilee Celebrations.
