On Saturday 23rd April MK Scouts and Guides took to Campbell Park for their annual St George’s Day Parade organised by Milton Keynes Scout and Guide Gang Show . Its the first time in many years that the event has taken place on the actual day and also the first time it’s been done on a Saturday for a while.

Traditionally this has been held on the Sunday closest to the St George’s Day but due to venue availability this was not possible. with just over 200 young people and adults plus parents and siblings on top the parade started at John Lewis with a spectacular parade to Campbell Park.

Milton Keynes Scout and Guide Gang Show shared their story of St George and this involved lots of audience participation. Dancing to Superman was a highlight for all.

Nigel Taylor (Media Lead for Bucks Scouts) had this to say – Firstly I would like to thank MK Scouts and MK Gang Show for inviting me to join them for this amazing event. It is truly wonderful to see these events happening again. Young people from both Scouting and Guiding joining forces to commemorate such a special event I have had a really great time and will remember this parade for many years to come.

Mayor of MK (Mohammed Khan) joined the parade and had this to say- It has been a pleasure and privileged to join the Scouts here at Campbell Park and I am honoured to see so many Young People renewing their promise at this remarkable event. Thank you to all the adult volunteers that help to make this organisation operate. I have also been able to learn the Cha Cha Slide and enjoyed being Superman. Thank you.
