This week we have seen many of our Scout Groups return to Face to Face and what a delight it has been.

Many of our groups have not met in nearly a year and they have had to use Zoom and other online platforms to deliver the programme which has been far from easy.

1st Wolverton who are one of the oldest groups in the district welcomed back all of their sections this week and the Beaver section welcomed 7 new members this week as well. When we spoke to Beaver Leader Lynn (Bubbles) she had this to say “’ I’m so very proud of the Wolverton family, we worked together to make this last year a brilliant one despite the challenges. It was magical to welcome the Beavers back this week and at times this was very emotional for all the Leaders. We are so pleased to welcome our 7 new members and we also invested a Beaver and one of the older ones did their swim up to cubs.”

5th Newport have been able to return to our local campsite The Quarries to do some firelighting, cooking and shelter building.

We are always looking for new volunteers and if you are looking to help the local community Scouting is the one to choose. Nothing is more rewarding when you see  Young People learning the new skills to help them later in life. Join us today and never look back.
