Youth Team Update! |
May has been a busy month for me as Deputy District Youth Commissioner. I have visited 5th Newport Pagnell Cubs to award 2 Silver Award. It is always a privilege to visit groups in the district to not only see local scouting in action but to also to award our brilliant Young People with top awards. I have also had 2 further young leader training sessions. The turnout has been good, and we have some good up and coming young leaders who will hopefully make brilliant adult leaders in the future across all section. If you would like me to visit your section to either present top awards or run a youshape award session, then please email me at: [email protected].

After nearly two and a half years, today saw our first visit from a company called Xero to do site work under their initiative called 'Day for Good'. It poured down for the whole of their visit, we got wet but we were prepared.
We offered inside jobs, but they took the one we had planned which was to collect most of the broken branches and trees around the site (some even I could not see) and we have two very full wood piles now.
Huge thank you to Xero for your hard work and perseverance with the weather. |

Ten young people from MK Scouts took on a mountain climbing challenge with a difference here at Climb Quest Milton Keynes.
The challenge was to help raise funds for an epic adventure across Europe this summer, called the Bucks Grand Tour.
This trip is set to begin in the UK working their way up through Scandinavia as far as the northern lights and then back down through Sweden, Latvia, Poland, Czech Republic to name just a few places.
Climb Quest were thrilled to host one of their fund-raising challenges to climb the equivalent height of Mount Snowdon, which sits at a dizzying 1,085 metres. |
