When thousands of runners line up for the MK Marathon, they come ready to test their limits — but they also bring bags, jackets, and personal items they can’t carry with them across the finish line. That’s where MK Scout steps in.
For the 2025 MK Marathon, our Scouts proudly ran the official baggage area, turning what could be a logistical headache into a smooth and efficient experience for runners and spectators alike. From early morning setup to the final pickup, our team ensured that every bag was safely stored, clearly tagged, and ready for its owner after the race.
It was more than just a service — it was an exercise in teamwork, responsibility, and real-world problem-solving. Our young people worked alongside adult volunteers, using radios, managing queues, and maintaining a secure, welcoming space for all.
Scouting is about preparing young people with skills for life — and this was the perfect example. Whether it was calming nervous runners before the starting gun or reuniting someone with their belongings at the finish line, our Scouts showed what community spirit looks like in action.
We’re proud to have played a key role in one of Milton Keynes’ biggest events. A huge thank-you to the MK Marathon team for trusting us, and to every Scout and leader who gave their time to help make race day a success!
