Youth Team Update!
Youth Team Update!
June has been a quiet start but a busy end for me as Deputy District Youth Commissioner. I went to another Young Leader Training meeting this month which was good. It is good to see so many excellent Young Leaders coming through and hopefully they will become excellent adult leaders in the future. On 30th June I am visiting 5th Newport Pagnell to present their Senior Sixer with his Silver Award. This is without doubt the best part of my role, Seeing Young people achieve their top awards is always a highlight and exactly what I want to see as DDYC. I am looking forward to next month with a Young Leader Training Camp coming up and I am very privileged to be heading to The Saints Scout Group as one of their scouts has become the first young person in MK District to complete their You shape award which is fantastic and for me as DDYC shows that through me visiting this group that I Inspired a young Person to complete the You shape award. Xero On Site!
Another visit from Xero the sun was out (too much) and everyone took on the challenge of starting to clear a site that had not been touched for over two years.
On the hottest day of the year so far, the tractors, trailers, shredders, chain saws, strimmers cleared grass, wood, stripped ivy from trees and replenished wood piles.
Thanks you Xero for once again coming to the Quarries and helping to clear this site, we now have a starting point to getting it ready for campers hopefully for next season.'
Saints Doing Site Service Badge!

We was approached by a leader from Saints Scout Group to ask if he could bring some scouts to the Quarries to work towards their Site Service Badge. Its an interesting award, but they seemed to take things in their stride.

First job was inspecting the toilets, were they clean, did the bins need emptying, toilet roll and hand towel inspection, how much rubbish on the floor. Task completed and went on to site 7 to clear stones and wood from the 'work in progress' site.

Thank you Saints, a job well done, next time it will be a discussion about drainage and drains!! We will of course find other things to do as well.

Need Badges?

You can order these from your local badge secretary.
